For January 6th, American evangelicals could plan to guard historically Black churches in DC, protect businesses that reject Proud Boys and call for calm in Lafayette Square.
They could stand up against Trump's ungodly incitement to violence.
Christians would lay down their lives in peace!
"The Lord examines both the righteous and the wicked. He hates those who love violence."
Psalm 11:5 NLT
The reason I highly doubt the 75-81% who voted for Trump are repentant, is they barely raised an eyebrow at loss of life in Charlottesville, most evangelicals said little to nothing when Trump blasphemed the Bible by violence at Lafayette Square, they did nothing when Trump incited insurrection in Michigan and a Christian website raised money for a teenage murderer. All of this happened, and it is well-documented. There is no excuse for such evil.
Only a deeply sick cult could want four more years of this divisive abuse of the rest of US!
And now there's the very obvious planned assault on Washington DC, January 6th 2021.
American evangelicals have apparently decided to value property over human lives. Evangelicals seem more likely to be putting lives at risk on Skid Row than bringing healing humbly, like Jesus. They are more likely to be suing the state over a mask and lockdown mandate, than humbly and enthusiastically doing whatever it takes to protect their neighbors' lives. 75% of them were amoral fools who continued to vote for an abuser unapologetically, and with arrogance.
This is our spiritually abusive American reality.
Many pro-life evangelicals have gone so far as to devalue the experiences of the bereaved, the lives of fellow citizens and the freedoms of democracy, for an authoritarian tyranny propped up by the lawless, abusive and violent. Quite simply, many have denied the Faith.
Evangelicals could indeed organize to repent by laying down their lives for others. When you have done this much collective harm, praying or even speaking out isn't enough. Restitution is necessary. Courage instead of cowardice!
America needs to see repentance from the majority of evangelicals.
But personal and corporate repentance has never been an evangelical priority thus far.
Never mind what the Bible actually says.
