This is not freedom.

When this posts, I will be home from a visit to the UK, safe and sleeping under my own roof, knowing my own kids are also safe and secure at home with me and my husband.
At time of writing, however, I am concerned about the Trump administration singling me out for exercising freedom writing about being a foreigner, even though I am an American. This administration and those who have supported or support it, have caused much trauma.
Such trauma could have been avoided, had those who raised me Christian had good character.
It is not right that I have anxiety flying home from the UK. It is not normal that I have to create a list of people to call and publicize my absence to, in the event of an abduction by a lawless administration. I have less fear going through customs in the UK, where I am foreign, than I do returning to the country where I was born, where I have generations of roots.
I should not have concerns that my freedom of speech will be used against me to hurt my own kids when I travel.
I am scheduling this, because it really is taking our lives in our hands to even get on a plane right now, and it was always mildly dangerous. But even more now, I am posting this because if I disappear, what I have to say will still be said.
This is not freedom. And the Trump administration is not just. This is not American. And the evangelicals and Catholics who voted for this are not good people. They are akin to Nazis.
If I live to fight another day, I will fight the evil of maga until the day I die. The difference is I will fight with my words and my life, peacefully, according to the Constitution and morality.
No decent person should be unsafe entering America. Not our neighbors, not our citizens.
I will die on this hill: love your neighbor, welcome the stranger, stop abuse.
I was a stranger, and you told me to go home. And I was born here.
It will take generations to repair what Trump, Russia and maga have done to harm their neighbors. And some things cannot be healed.
We arrived home almost on time, and the most traumatic part for us was a bad descent in a storm cloud. ICE was not waiting, TSA was friendly and professional, we had a good experience arriving in Cincinnati. But others are not having such a good experience of our country. Please pray and give and take action as you are able. It is not normal that innocent people are being singled out for who they are.
