Love and Justice

...don't lie about their neighbors to score political points.

Psalm 101

Of David. A psalm.

1 I will sing of your love and justice; to you, Lord, I will sing praise. 2 I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me?

I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart. 3 I will not look with approval on anything that is vile.

I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it. 4 The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil.

5 Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate.

6 My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me.

7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.

8 Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the Lord.

There are those who have taken my own words and character or even personal pain out of context to smear me as holding positions I have never articulated, thought or ever held.

It is very hurtful. And those who do this love that their lies can hurt. It seems to me we are seeing the worst behavior lately from alleged Christians, in America. That is disappointing and sad. While I am by no means perfect, I do believe my character speaks. Abuse says most about those who indulge in its assumptions, accusations and falsehoods to discredit others. For the record, telling the truth about evil behavior* and unrepentant abuse, is not abuse.

The Accuser is Satan. God will vindicate.

I didn't have to protest I don't support open borders to justify a Christian stance in support of refugees in the face of outrageous cruelty from people called to love even enemies, as I am, too. I didn't have to share that abusive attitudes towards refugees put me into therapy because "I was a stranger" once, too, and that was hard enough without the trauma of war and bereavement and bombs. I can share this now, though, because I am confident before God that those "Christians" engaging in abuse of this mendacious, amoral, abusive level, will someday answer for it.

The latest abuse by amoral partisans is to accuse others of being "groomers" of children.

Let me be clear: as a Christian I will always stand with the vulnerable, and as a parent and a teacher, I will not stand for being lied about as a "groomer" for so doing. That is abuse, and it must be rebuked. Sen. McMorrow is right:

There is perhaps nothing more disgusting than to abuse good people in this way. God sees.

Context.

*actual groomers:

Where is the repentance for abuse, from Republicans?
