Democracy wins today. I have never been so relieved nor cared so much about an election. I don't care whether the loser concedes or not. I'm just glad a majority of Americans rejected the abuse we've been enduring over the past four years. It is so good we have repudiated the angry, cruel, arrogant people we've been dealing with in our culture for four horrible years.
Time for some dancing and music and innocent, old-fashioned fun again.
In honor of this historic event, I spoke with my family about my swearing problem. I rarely, if ever, swore until 2016, and my husband and I made a pact just now to pay a dollar per swear towards a doughnut fund. (The kids wanted it to be ten bucks, but I said we'd be broke - and thinking about it, very fat.) This right here, is one step in a direction of civility.
