It is just so heartbreaking to watch those you grew up with fall away from righteousness, just for some elusive bit of power.
Maybe we should close all the churches and send all the missionaries back home until we can figure out "what the hell is going on" with American evangelicals.
And we are in the middle of a pandemic.
Think about it.
It is interesting that "judgement" is always for someone other than the evangelical in-group. Flood, famine, hurricane, cancer, AIDS, even a COVID19 pandemic:
it's always "the fault" of anyone other than them.
The show must go on; there is no time for grief at loss of life or over sin.
There is never any genuine lament.
We are living through a global pandemic that has shuttered churches and destroyed lives everywhere, but several American evangelicals still want to pretend it's not even real.
What utterly blind guides, cruel in their apathy to the truth and towards the bereaved.
What useless faith, that judges those outside, while being worse on the inside, in what they tolerate and excuse and condone.
God have mercy; what grief they continue to cause by their unrepentant hearts.
They are lost.
