This is my God; God is love.

“If the godly compromise with the wicked, it is like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring.” Proverbs 25:26

I never thought these folks would go so far as to applaud murder.

I have been grieved yet again, to discover that Christians in America are willing to make excuses for and even applaud the taking of another life. The message we are being sent by their callousness is what I tweeted earlier today to the Twitter account of those who are hosting a fundraiser for a shooter:

“‘Do not repay anyone evil for evil’ but if they throw a skateboard at you, you have the god-given right to shoot them dead.”

This is absolutely comparable to the worst sicknesses of the past century. This mentality leads to death and is incompatible with the love of God, which is sacrificial.

I had to wonder: "What if Christians did what God said."

If God is love, if God values life- all things I was taught by evangelicals-how can the current situation be?

The state of American Christianity is damnable and nauseating, but "this I call to mind, therefore I hope:

Whatever happens next, we Christians need to follow Christ. We need to be tenderhearted. We need to repent. We need to humble ourselves. We need a return to our First Love.

We need to be reminded the way up is down; true strength is not in power and control; real power is found in the vulnerability and openness of innocent, pure love. There's been so much vileness and cruelty, and the hardness of heart has crossed the line to the point of no return.

There can be no fellowship with evil.

There is hope in the holy love of God.

"How I love you

All I am is You

King of love

I bow."
